Help with the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)
The Kubon & Sagner - OPAC enables you to explore literature quickly and easily.
The search field
- One or several search terms can be entered into the search field
- in original script (Latin, Cyrillic)
- in DIN-1460, ISO-9 and LOC transliteration, video
(german) - with and without diacritics
- in inverted commas ("...") for a phrase
- Truncation symbols, video

- Asterisk (*) to replace several characters, e.g. Mei*
- Question mark (?) to replace one character, e.g. Mei?r
- Minus sign (-) to exclude unwanted words, e.g. Otto -Sagner
- Tilde (~) at the end of a word for a fuzzy search, e.g. Meier~

- "New search" – to carry out a new search
- "Search matches" – to search matches already found, see "My current search"
- "Author" – to search by author’s name
- "ISBN/ISSN" – to search by ISBN- or ISSN
List of matches
- Current matches (xxxxx matches) are shown on the left
- The sort functions of the matches are shown in the centre
- Relevance – the search engine shows the best matches at the top
- Date of publication - the search engine sorts the matches by date of publication
- New products - the search engine sorts the matches according to latest products added to Kubon & Sagner’s range
- The navigation bars (1 | 2 | 3..) leading to the other search results are on the right
My current search
- Every search or every search restriction is displayed in a pink box.
- It is possible to cancel the restriction by clicking on the orange cross behind each term.
- If search terms are active in "My current search", the search mode in the search field switches to "Search matches", see search modes.
