Politički zatvorenik (Political prisoner), a monthly journal of the Croatian Association of Political Prisoners, was launched after the disintegration of the communist Yugoslavia. It is one of few platforms on which formal political prisoners can freely present their testimonies on the repression they were facing as individuals and members of their nation. Those who carefully read their memories, which are presented to the public in a modern, electronic form, will realise that Croatian political prisoners were not primarily motivated by any ideology; they were not unconditionally either anti-communists or communists; all of them were just victims of the foreign reign of terror, fighters for freedom and human rights...
